Earthpods

The latest additions to Lewa House are four rooms (or earthpods.) Designed by Sophie’s Father, these Gaudi-esque style buildings are an innovative form of architecture. Their organic shape allows them to blend into the landscape and their curved walls create a comfortable atmosphere inside. They also collect and store rainwater and maintain an even temperature. They have a simple, elegant décor that compliments their views over the Northern Frontier of Kenya. In the bathrooms the indoor showers have a luxurious feel, while the outdoor baths let you lie under the African sky — immersed in hot water — and lose track of time.

"You could be visited by a herd of zebras, or by a lonely giraffe – what better way to enjoy the show than from your outdoor bathtub.”
